First, I wanted to let you know about two new features released by Google Classroom over the past week.
1. You can now choose to assign work to specific students or groups.
This option is great for distributing makeup work, foundational assignments for new students, remediation activities, differentiated instruction, and more.
Just check the boxes for particular students to the right of where you would normally choose to which class you were applying the assignments. See the video below for step-by-step instructions.
2. Email notifications for late/resubmitted work.
Now Classroom will email you to let you know that a late assignment has been turned in or a revision has been submitted, so you’ll never miss an assignment again!
To see how it works, head over to this YouTube playlist and add a song that always perks you up and gets you through a long day. I did this with my classes and will play it while they're hard at work. It's amazing to see them get reenergized when their song comes on!
Want to know how you can start your own collaborative playlist? Watch this quick video.
Can you think of any other way to use individual Google Classroom assignment or collaborative playlists? Pease let us know in the comments!
